Dan Applegarth is a skilled insurance regulator with more than 25 years of experience in monitoring the solvency of insurance companies.
Dan has been with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) since 2020 and currently serves as the Chief Financial Examiner in the Property & Casualty Examinations Section, where he oversees all the property and casualty financial examinations performed by the OIR.
Prior to his time with OIR, he worked for the Utah Insurance Department for more than two decades where he served as an examiner, an analyst, and the Chief Analyst.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University and a Masters in Business Administration from Utah State University. He also holds designations as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Examiner, and Professional in Insurance Regulation. Dan is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Society of Financial Examiners.
